Wow. Over two years have gone by since my last post and it’s high time for an update. The past two years have brought about many changes which have pretty much filled up all my spare time.
Firstly, spurred on by my passion for interior design, I decided to take it to the next level and take up part time study to gain a diploma in interior design. Three years on and I submitted my final assignment just last week…which means (all going well) that I am now just weeks away from graduating from the British Academy of Interior Design. This will come in handy since (cue life update number two -)
We have moved! Professional reasons saw us move from Lyon to the French Alps, between Geneva and Annecy to be exact. While we were sad of course to leave our beloved apartment, which we had poured so much time and energy into renovating, it was time to move on and take our next step up the property ladder. We invested in a 3-bedroomed chalet in the beautiful Haute Savoie region of France. The house is definitely a fixer upper, but as you know by now that is our style! Renovations are underway, slowly but surely, and I plan to document our room by room progress here on the blog. Truth be told, we also needed a property with more space since (cue life update number three -)
We had a baby! In the summer of 2017 we welcomed a little boy into the world. He is the light of our lives and has already brought us to much joy and adventures over the past 18 months…long may they continue!
So there you have it, a busy few years to say the least.
Here is a photo of our new house, taken on the day we got the keys.
